100719 U-KISS Dongho's Daily Life Routines Revealed!

U-KISS's Dongho and Kang Byul were selected as the new models for SKY's SMP 'THE PLAYER'.

Dongho and Kang Byul's actual lifestyles were being recorded as the concept for this advertisement is about life in reality.

The recording location was held early in the morning at a coffee shop located in Hongdae, where Dongho was spotted playing with SKY The Player's Google search. We had a little conversation where Dongho told us about his experience while recording for 'Invincible Baseball' with his hyungs and how he recently fell in love with Twitter. Dongho is currently a 1st year high school student in Hanlim Arts High School, and has been using the free internet services to complement his classes with some entertainment.

Meanwhile, Dongho and model/actress Kang Byul's pictures at the subway, book café and nail shop, and doing their everyday routines while using SKY THE Player, were revealed.

100718 U-Kiss, First Solo Japanese Performance

Seven-membered male group U-Kiss showed off a hot performance in Japan.

At Tokyo's Nagano Sun Plaza on the 17th, U-Kiss held the '4th Seoul Train- with U-KISS' and performed, beginning with their first album 'U-KISS ONLY ONE ALBUM' title track 'Binggeul Binggeul' and continuing with 'Talk To Me', 'Mworago', and 'Man Man Ha Ni'.

Alexander stated, "There's talks of a song being made in Japanese, so please anticipate that", and KiBum said, "It's a surprise announcement, but we are going to release an album in Japan".

On this day, Sponge Band also performed on stage as a guest band. Sponge Band created the atmosphere with their drama OST song 'Us Like This' and their title track 'Can't Hear'.

At the press conference held before the performance, KiBum said, "We are nervous because this is the first time we are doing live while it is being broadcast on TV, but we will work hard show everyone a cool performance".

U-Kiss's performance will be aired again on Tokyo MXTV in August, and on DATV on September 6th, in a long version that will include a 'making of' video.

Lately, 'U-Kiss' member SooHyun has been practicing hard for musical 'Chorus Line', in which he will be performing in August at the Seoul SamSung Coex Center. We were curious about the thoughts inside of an idol star's head who is attempting a musical for the first time. We met SooHyun at the Coex Center practice room.

Q. Why did you choose to do a musical?

U-Kiss is important, but my last dream was to stand on a musical stage. I was always thinking about it while promoting, and then a chance for an audition came by.

Q. Idol stars have to take auditions too?

Of course. The actors for 'Chorus Line' have all passed through really difficult auditions. I was no exception; I finished a tough audition too.

Q. What did you do for your audition?

After they showed us the choreography they do on stage, they immediately asked me to do it. Maybe I was lucky, but I picked it up quickly and followed it. I also sang. But more than anything, I think that the reaction to my personal introduction at the end was good. I said, "To become a member of U-Kiss, I had a hard time during my trainee days but I worked hard. It's an honor to have come this far, and if I get chosen, then I will do my best", and the judges looked like they were touched. The producer said before he went back to New York that he 'thought that he was really seeing Mark (the role that SooHyun is playing). I felt like you have what it takes to stand on the stage, so I casted you". I'm really thankful. I will work hard and not let his expectations fall short.

Q. Why do you think more and more idols are entering into musicals?

The trend nowadays is to be a multi-entertainer. MC, acting, solo activities are common, but I think that the road for musicals is also opening up. Everyone wants to do more, learn more, and get to the top. I think that we feel that we will be accepted for our talents more through musicals and receive more love.

Q. The company must not like it. Their time and money is being stolen.

You're right. And to add to that, U-Kiss is releasing a single album soon. At first, the company representative didn't like that I was doing a musical. So I convinced him with my eye glint (laugh). Now, he's saying, 'Since you're trying this, work really hard'. The manager hyungs also help, so I can comfortably focus on just practicing.

Q. Will musical experience help with your activities as a singer?

U-Kiss has seven members, but 'Chorus Line' has thirty-three. The scale is different even when we dance together to a single song. Through this experience with a musical, I want to give help to my U-Kiss dongsengs.

Q. What are your thoughts on idols entering musicals?

Personally, I hope that the link between the musical industry and the entertainment industry grows. Just as entertainers attempt musicals, I want musical actors to enter the entertainment industry. When I look around me, theres a lot of talk about how 'idols seem to be crossing over into the musical industry a bit too much'. There are criticisms that people only gather at performances that idols are starring in. It's sad. I feel that way too.

100710 The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival

Alexander will arrival Hong Kong on 21 July 2010 and back to Korea on 25 July 2010

The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Association and the Hong Kong Tourism Board have come together to organise the 'Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival' which will be held from the 23rd to 25th of July at East Tsim Sha Tsui, with a total of 191 local and foreign competing teams, including a team consisting of popular artistes from Korea, such as Super Junior, 2PM and U-Kiss.

The tourism board expressed that this time round, they received HKD15,000,000 of sponsorships and they estimated that the 3-day event will attract up to 50,000 spectators, including 8000 tourists. The competition is of a larger scale this time, with a total of 12 countries and 191 teams in the competition, which is almost double of last year. There will also be more creative activities, including a bathtub race, a race organised for breast cancer survivors - 'Pink invitational dragon boat race' and a 'Big dragon boat race' where each team has 50 or more members etc.

However, the most attractive would be the invitational race consisting of teams from various international broadcasting stations. One of the participants would be from Korea's KBS Dream Team. For now, participating members include 2PM's Junho, U-Kiss' Alexander and other Super Junior members.
